The GALLERY the Home of CUBE

The Gallery Coffee House, started brewing on July 19th 2021.The brainchild of Brian and Tammi, to bring together the community of Barry and surrounding areas. Brian brings 10 years experience in the coffee industry serving barista style coffee at outdoor events both corporate and film markets.

The Gallery Coffee House prides itself as being more than just a coffee shop, our vision and passion are huge, and our aim is to make a difference to everyone in our community one cup of coffee at a time. Anyone can pop in for a coffee or lunch and you will be helping us and the community all at the same time.

Amongst other things, we invite people in for a chat and a drink to The Gallery Coffee House, our aim is to combat loneliness in the community.

We now offer lunches between 11.30am and 2pm and we have offer afternoon teas, which have been going down very successfully.  Saturday's we offer pancakes, French toast and waffles, and all our bakes are made fresh home made by our very own baker Sophie.

The Gallery Coffee House is linked to CUBE, a not for profit community organisation based on the first floor. They provide advocacy and intervention programmes to the general public at no cost to them. Every time you make a purchase in our coffee shop, however small, the income goes towards the running of these programmes.

We support local businesses both in store by stocking their products and promoting them, very important in our community.

There will be pop up events, workshop style events and a lot lot more to keep your taste buds satisfied.

Keep an eye on this site and our social media for regular updates.

Who do we support?

We at CUBE are here to support as many people who need our help.  To be able to work with as many children and young people as we can,  we can only support those who are not in crisis.  So what does that mean?  It means that we can work with a young person who is struggling at school, at home and with their friendship groups.  You don't need someone to refer for you, everyone can self refer.  All we ask is you fill in our referral form with as much detail as you can, so we are able to  refer you to the appropriate person within the team.  We are happy to meet with you and  your young person to discus what we can offer and if we are unable to offer support we may be able to help you with other support to support your young person, like our family support programmes such as side by side or our parenting support groups.  If we are unable to help we will signpost you to access services locally.

How old can the child or young person be?

We work with children and young people from 6 years old to young adults of 18.

What support do we offer?

After coming in for a chat with our children's and young person worker Sarah who will tailor support appropriate and meaningful  to the young person and will be delivered at our base at the Gallery.  Some support such as 1 to 1 support may be during school time , we do have some after school support but this is often for individuals who are unable to access support during school times.

We also offer support groups and workshops.  And we also have fun workshops in the early evenings such as our Chill and Chat Drop in's.

Training for schools, social workers and professionals

Here at the CUBE our foundations are based on the ethos of restorative approaches, which means we believe people are the experts in their own lives and that people, partners and communities are at the heart of everything we do.

We can offer training in restorative approaches and in trauma informed practices, including practical, therapeutic powerful interactions.

Working with many professionals who support children they often share how they are worried about 'opening a can of worms' in conversations.

This course aims to build your confidence in how to approach difficult conversations and support children and young people.

We also believe in supporting the implementation of these practises, so offer an opportunity for our facilitators to come to your school/organisation a few months after training to spend time to help implement the learnings. We work with you to strengthen your skills and help support you develop further in your learning.
